Election Postponement: A ‘Rude Shock’ Says Wike
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the general election as a rude shock to the country.
The governor, at a church service on Sunday in Port Harcourt, called on the international community to continue to put pressure on the authorities to do what is right in the interest of the nation.
Describing himself as a member of the “Nigeria Must Be Better” group, Governor Wike called on Nigerians to come out with renewed determination to participate in the polls on February 23 and March 9.
“This week you are coming in, come with all amount of energy and say, ‘truly Nigeria must be better,” the governor admonished his audience.
