El-Rufai Condemns Killing Of Kaduna Monarch
Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir-Elrufai, has condemned the killing of the Etum Numana, His Royal Highness, Gambo Makama and his wife at their residence in the early hours of Monday, 1st January, by unknown assassins.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the State Governor, Samuel Aruwan said at a press briefing in Kaduna, that the late Etum Numana was a peacemaker who was committed to peace and development in his chiefdom.
“The government commiserates with the immediate family of the royal father and his wife, the people of Numana Chiefdom and the entire Sanga Local Government.”
According to him, “government condemns this double murder as a calculated threat to peace, and a most unfortunate attempt to intrude into a new year a pattern of criminality that needlessly threatens the right of citizens to security, life and liberty”.
He urged all those with useful information to forward it to the relevant security agencies, saying, the information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
Mr. Aruwan added that government has directed the security agencies to investigate the criminal incident by assigning more personnel to the area and also bring the assailants to justice.
“Government urges the people of Numana Chiefdom to remain calm and to support the security agencies as they investigate the crime which is threatening the hard-won peace across the Southern Kaduna area, ” he concluded.
