FG Uses Security Agents to Unleash Terror on APC Leaders in Ekiti
Akin Badmus, Ado Ekiti
Reports currently reaching us from Akure and Ekiti shows that the federal government of Nigeria, led by Goodluck Jonathan, has dropped every pretense to democracy as it unleahed terror on the APC in the soon to be conducted Ekiti gubernatorial election.
Apparently, there has been instructions to deny APC leaders and governors the right to land their planes in Akure. While APC Leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, managed to land his, Governors Rabiu Kwankwaso and Adams Oshiomhole weren’t so lucky as their planes were denied the rights to land at the Akure Airport.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who also managed to avoid the airport security, was violently stopped by soldiers from proceeding to Ekiti by road.
As at this moment the federal government is using soldiers to forcefully bar senior opposition personalities, governors and APC bigwigs from entering Ekiti to show solidarity to the governor, John Kayode Fayemi.
How this will end, nobody can tell but Goodluck Jonathan should be told in no uncertain terms that south west Nigeria is a wrong place for him to engineer carnage in the guise of winning an election. In case he doesn’t remember, somebody please remind Jonathan of what transpired in 1983 during the Omoboriowo vs Ajasin fracas.
A word is enough for the wise. The same Jonathan gleefully told the nation that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian but I guess he has forgotten he said so just as he has forgotten every other sensible thing he ever said.
Will update you more on happenings in Ekiti.
