Eid-il-Fitri: Ambode To Celebrate With Muslims Faithful Across Lagos
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has promised a beffiting Eid-il-Fitri celebration with the Muslim faithful across the State.
Governor Ambode who will be celebrating along with his wife, Mrs Bolanle Ambode at 20 designated locations said the gesture was in furtherance of his Administration policy of inclusive governance.
In a statement signed by the Public Affairs Officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Lookman Seriki, said that apart from the usual merriment associated with such festivals, Muslims faithful will have the opportunity to pray for sustainability of peace and continuation of unprecedented development for Lagos and for Governor Ambode, as well as his wife and other members of his family for many successes recorded so far in the last three years.
According to him “The Administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode believes that prayer has been playing pivotal roles in the rapid development and tranquility that prevails in Lagos, and has been actively supporting initiatives that will promote socio-economic growth, infrastructural expansion, enhancement of security, increment of safety and happiness of the people.”
“Before the last year celebration of Eid-El-Fitri at the grassroots, State participation in religious festivals was always held at the State House, a situation that excluded participation of large segments of the people.”
