According to a source at the anti-graft agency, Akpabio was taken into custody on Friday evening.
“Yes, Akpabio is in our custody, and he is undergoing interrogation for alleged fraud and looting of Akwa Ibom funds when he was governor,” the source said.
He is alleged to have looted about N100 billion Akwa Ibom funds between 2007 and 2014 when he was governor of the state.
