Ebola: Two More Nigerians Die from Salt Water Consumption in Makurdi
After two Nigerians lost their lives and 20 others were hospitalised in Jos following the consumption of salt water rumoured to be a ‘therapy’ that can prevent Ebola, two other Nigerians in Makurdi, Benue state have died from the excessive in-take of the ‘therapy’.
The Director, Public Health in the Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Joseph Kumba, announced this on Wednesday.
He said, “We got the report at a meeting today (Wednesday 13th August) that two persons (a male and a female) died at Ushakaa clinic as a result of drinking and bathing with hot salted water.”
The Medical Director of Ushakaa Hospital, Dr. Innocent Gbillah did not disclose the names of the deceased but said they were admitted into the hospital on Saturday.
