DSS Raid APC Data Centre Again Despite Court Order
Information reaching Abusidiqu indicates that the Department of State Security Services (DSS), has again raided the APC data centre in Lagos, despite a court order barring it from doing so.
The DSS had last week raided the APC data centre at Allen Avenue, Lagos, arresting workers and confiscating documents and computer hard drives.
The service claimed its action was based on a petition it received alleging “unwholesome activities” inside the building.
But Federal High Court in Lagos, Wednesday, ordered the State Security Service, SSS, to unseal the warehouse used by the All Progressives Congress, APC, as data centre.
Justice Mohammed Yunusa also granted an interim order restraining the SSS from further shutting party’s data office or taking any step in connection with the property pending the determination of the substantive suit.
But rather than complying with the ruling of the court, the DSS on Monday night carried out another raid at the data office.
Details of the raid remains sketchy as at the time of this report, but sources said the DSS operatives took away physical records contained in about 30 bags from the store of the centre.
