Dr Danfulani’s Sullied Remarks: Venom S Of A Spent Horse By Istifanus Jatau
The social media were recently awash, having been unnecessarily oversupplied with harmful and noxious literature by a misguided academic from an exalted and venerable institution in Kaduna State, expressly intended to malign the dignity of Deputy Governor, Barnabas Bala Bantex and insult the good people of Kaduna State. Everyone that visited the pages on which the horrendous literature was posted has sworn never to read such offending works again, for they were clearly vain effects of a diseased mind. I had initially resolved not to entertain any thought about them or give them any serious consideration, having been solely intended to achieve loathsome and hateful objections. However, after reflecting genuinely on the background of the author, and having thought intensely about the havoc his ill-motivated writes ups could induce, I have finally decided to remind him about salient issues he had deliberately ignored and which his jaundiced vision could not immediately conjure about the brand new politics ushered in by the wind of change in Kaduna State.
The subject of my discourse is Dr John Danfulani of Awon Village of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State and the ultimate purpose of my writing is to expose his reckless and thoughtless temperament which had clearly characterized his excessive moroseness, vanity or indifference. He is moronic because he has significant learning difficulties and impaired political skills, otherwise how could he so easily forget what he had been doing and saying in the past about the very person he has turned around to insult publicly? Has he forgotten that he had been almost hand-in-globe with His Excellency, Barnabas Bantex in the struggle to elevate the status of Southern Kaduna and raise the social status of the citizenry of the area? Was he not a minion or an underling that followed the Deputy Governor like a faithful dog during the struggle to emancipate the people of Kaduna State from the restrictive and oppressive burdens that bogged them down? He had easily forgotten how he had to pitch tent with the Deputy Governor, Bantex after he had been rejected by his selfish and uncharitable political mentors who had regarded him as of little worth or importance?
It is quite obvious Dr Danfulani is suffering from excessive pride whereas he has lacked any degree of importance, discernible seriousness or apparent sensibleness either in his personality or in his actions. He attaches so much importance to himself whereas he has nothing tangible to offer towards building a just and egalitarian society he makes so much fuss about, but is remarkably noted for his excessive selfishness, self-centredness and egotism.
The venom spat by Dr Danfulani against Deputy Governor, Barnabas Bala Bantex was as a result of his non-inclusion in the appointments made by the Government of Malam Nasir el-Rufa’I because he was found to be not worthy of any of them. That explained his frustration and consequent desperation to run the government down and discredit a person held in high esteem in the Southern part of the state who was responsible for putting paid to ethnic and parochial politics that had been the bane of the area, and railroaded it into the main stream of Kaduna State politics where everyone has a sense of belonging.
The people of Southern Kaduna have since the emergence of Malam Nasiru and Bantex on the political scene of Kaduna bid farewell to agents of confusion and divisiveness, who deliberately fan the embers of various forms of intolerance to become relevant in the society. This was evident from the way the peoples of Southern Kaduna demonstrated unprecedented degree of solidarity to the duo of Nasir and Bantex and that had actually belied the mistaken belief spread by Danfulani and his ilk that the party they belong to was not fully embraced by the multi-ethnic society of the Southern part of the State. They were, therefore, put to shame when the people of the area voted overwhelmingly for them.
The warm reception accorded the Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate of All Progressive Party, Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i in all places he had visited in the three Senatorial Zones in Kaduna has underscored the level of his acceptability in the state’s multi-ethnic society. Similarly, his Deputy, Bala Bantex had experienced the same effect wherever he had been during the electioneering campaigns as he spread the gospel of restoring the lost glory of Kaduna State and unveiling his plans for delivering it from the social and political ills that stunted its progress and development. That was what Dr Danfulani denies and now rubbishes due to his pathological hatred of the darling of the masses of his area.
In fact the enthusiastic crowd that had during and after the electioneering campaigns swarm around Governor Nasir and his able Deputy, Barnabas Bantex appreciated the salient aspects of APC’s five-point agenda for uplifting the status of Kaduna State. The people were fully appreciative of their bold plans to improve their standard and were therefore more determined to give them moral and practical support, having realized that they were available to remold Kaduna into uncontaminated, secured and prosperous state, driven by steadfast resolve and grounded on fairness, equity and justice.Such determination comes easily from the people who believe in the progress of their society, having been positioned to set record in Nigeria’s political history by breaking the jinx on forces, patronized by Dr Danfulani and his associates, that have always attempted to derail any endeavor aimed at improving the welfare of the masses.
Dr Danfulani should know that he could not very easily destroy Kaduna State Deputy Governor whose principal has absolute confidence in his ability and capacity to serve his people diligently and credibly. Governor El-Rufa’I has said in many places and to many people who care to listen that he has a competent Deputy who is always available to succeed him. This is enough for any person bent on causing havoc and disharmony between the Deputy Governor and his people to know that the good people of Kaduna State, like Malam Nasir, could not allow him to succeed in his nefarious activities. The unguided utterances against the Deputy Governor by any disgruntled and discredited politician amount to sedition and security threat, and the government must not take that lying low. Enough is enough from this drowning academic who had outlived his usefulness in a community and a veritable nuisance to a decent society. He should be removed from the ivory tower and incarcerated where he rightly belongs: a protective penitentiary or a remedial psychiatric home.
