Dora Akunyili In Critical Condition; To Be Flown To India
The Scoop is reporting that former minister of information and former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dora Akunyili, has fallen critically ill.
It would be recalled Mrs Akunyili fell sick sometimes last week and was flown abroad for a treatment that family sources said was an unknown ailment.
The extent of her ailment became a public discourse when pictures of her taken during the ongoing national conference in Abuja in which she is a delegate, surfaced in the media.
While she looked emaciated that many wondered why she accepted the call to attend the conference instead of attending to her health, Akunyili herself said she has fully recovered and only needed to add some weight.
But the report by The Scoop which said she is expected to be flown to India tonight however suggests otherwise.
According to the source, officials of the foreign affairs ministry are trying their best to secure an Indian visa immediately for her so she can fly tonight as a private jet is already on standby.
