Dogara Mourns Hon. Musa Baba Onwana, Says Late Colleague Was A Man Of Peace
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has said that he is in a state of shock over the sudden death of Hon. Musa Baba Onwana.
Hon. Onwana, who represents Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency of Nasarawa state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died on Thursday at the age of 50.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr. Turaki Hassan, the Speaker described the late lawmaker as calm, peace loving and a good family man.
“Hon. Onwana was a patriot and a true Nigerian who was always championing the course of his people in the House. We have lost a hardworking, committed and dedicated colleague and our hearts go to his immediate family, constituents, government and people of Nasarawa state”, the statement read.
“I pray that almighty God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, the Speaker also said.
The late Hon. Onwana attended Government Secondary School Karu and graduated in 1979. He then proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a BSc in Business Administration in 1989 and an MBA in 1994.
He was Senior Manager, General Service Logistics/General Services at MTEL between 1997-2010, and a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa between 1993-1997. Before then, he was a tutor at Government Secondary School, Nasarawa between 1991-1993.
He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and returned in 2015.
