Dogara Condoles With Buhari Over Ocholi’s Death
…says late minister was a dogged fighter and committed progressive
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has expressed shock over the death of Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Mr. James Ocholi on Sunday.
Ocholi, a senior advocate of Nigeria died on Sunday in a road traffic accident along with his wife and son along Kaduna-Abuja road.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr. Turaki Hassan, Dogara said the country has lost a patriot and a perfect gentleman.
The Speaker, who described the death of Ocholi and his family members as tragic, expressed his condolence to President Muhammadu Buhari, the government and people of Kogi state over the big loss.
“We have lost one of our finest lawyers, a dogged fighter and a committed progressive. The legal profession has lost one of its best.
The death of the Ocholis is a big tragedy and only God can give comfort and solace to the family. We share in the pains and our prayers are with them at this difficult moment.
“My special condolence goes to the president who has lost one of his strong political allies and a shining star in the present administration.”
“I pray that almighty God grants their souls eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
