Diezani & Anti-Corruption Crusade: Buhari Finally Hits The Ground Running, By Adedayo Osho
After key looters in past immediate government run to safe havens, say, UK, USA, UAE and European countries to mention a few: Clouds are gathering for President Muhammadu Buhari to finally hit the ground running on his anti-corruption crusade. Lately, an oil queen, Diezani Allison-Madueke was arrested and has been granted bail on conditions- an action perceived by her sympathisers as witch hunt.
Bear in mind: If not tagged politically motivated, indictment of gluttonous politicians in Nigeria is becoming conventionally referred to as witch hunt. These terms has since become a recurring decimal owing to ethnic and political cleavages.
It shouldn’t be the business of any right thinking school-drop out, homeless, malnourished and unemployed 2015 Nigerian to defend the indefensible. It is pertinent to remind that our current state of stagnation as a nation is the handiwork of covetous politicians. They’ve overtime been responsible for rolling back our hands of time.
Although it’s been observed in various quarters that this crusade is selective and centred around prosecuting real or imagined opposition of the incumbent government, discerning minds would agree that, the moment any indictee is found guilty, light fingered politicians who had previously siphoned state funds but presently belong to the ruling party will also be implicated. Politicians belong to one circle, their record of shady deals is still in custody of two or more former allies now in different parties.
