Dambazau Directs Interior Ministry Agencies to Form Polo Clubs
The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau (Lt Gen. Rtd) has directed all the services under the Ministry to form Polo Clubs within the next six months.
He gave the directive in Kaduna at a Peace Polo Tournament organized in his honour as part of the activities marking the 2018 Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA).
Abdulrahman Dambazau said that polo would be of immense benefit to the personnel of the services as it would not only promote discipline, but also keep them physically fit.
According to him, polo is a team event and it helps the officers to imbibe discipline and endurance. He added that since it is one of the important games for the Armed Forces, he was desirous to use the opportunity to encourage all the services to form Polo Clubs.
He commended the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for pioneering the formation of Polo Clubs among other services in the Ministry, stressing that it was a matching order to all the services that were present. He assured them that in the next six months, all the services will have formidable polo teams.
Earlier, the President of the Kaduna Polo Club, Suleiman Abubakar solicited the support of the Ministry and its services in upgrading the facilities, and urged all the services to embrace the sport for greater performance.
