CYPDI Condemns Spate Of Cult Related Killings In Anyingba, Sues For Peace
The recent cult clash in Kogi State University, Anyigba that led to the loss of four precious lives on Thursday, May 31, 2018 is unfortunate, completely uncalled-for and should be condemned in it’s entirety.
The news is heart breaking and my heart bleeds as a youth ambassador, an individual who champions the course for peace in our land, to wake up to the realization of how four young promising youths have lost their lives in a cult act the society and authorities frown at.
My heart goes out to the families the deceased who lost their loved young vibrant children in this clash. May we never witness such again in our higher institutions of learning.
In the words of Sri Chinmoy“Man invents war. Man discovers peace. He invents war from without. He discovers peace from within. War man throws. Peace man sows. The smile of war is the flood of human blood. The smile of peace is the love, below, above.”
It’s in lieu of the above quote that I plead with our youths to pls shun cultism and also desist from violence. Don’t get yourself involved in any anti-social activities capable of truncating peace and your school calendar. Please, place utmost priority on acquiring the education you have to, for a solid future.
CYPDI as an organization that preaches peace, promotes harmonious relationship and peaceful coexistence, we will not relent in charting the course of peace because, peace in it’self brings about sustainable development, as there cannot be development in an atmosphere devoid of peace,
Once again, as students and citizens of Kogi State, let’s continue to embrace and promote peace and place more value on lives,as human lives are sacrosanct.
