The Coalition of Civil Society Groups have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to with immediate effect, remove the Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Hailey Gwandu.
The group allegedly accuse Gwandu of incompetence and the non discharge of his security duties in the state. It also accuses the Police Command under the leadership of Gwandu of not finding value in community policing.
According to the group, killing and kidnapping of innocent citizen has become menace in Edo state and the State Police Command seems to be turning a blind eye to the issues.
The group laments that there is a conspiracy by the enemies of Edo State to make the state ungovernable through an upsurge in criminal activities.
They are asking the Inspector General of Police to remove Haliru Gwandu as directed by the Police Service Commission.
