Court Adjourns Suit Seeking Removal Of Ondo APC Chairman
The Federal High Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State Capital on Thursday Adjourned for definite hearing on the suit challenging the removal of Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke as the chairman of the APC in Ondo State.
Kekemeke was indicted by the disciplinary committee set up by state Executive Committee(SEC) of the party earlier this year over alleged anti-party affairs.
The suit challenging the removal of Kekemeke was filled by the duo of Gboyega Adedipe and Desmond Dejumola.
At the resumed hearing, Counsel to the Plaintiffs,Olugburo Akinola argued that the disciplinary committee set up to investigate the chairman was unconstitutional.
Counsel to the Acting Chairman of APC , Ade Adetimehin and APC, Femi Emmanuel maintained that the plaintiff are wasting the time of the court with their adjournment application.
He added that they are ready for the case, urging the court to struck out the suit on the account of a perceived lack of interest in the case by the plaintiffs.
In her ruling, the Presiding Judge, Justice J. A Olubanjo ordered a fine of N20,000 against the plaintiffs which is to be paid to the three out of the seven defendants before any further action on the suit.
She adjourned till January 30th, 2018 for ruling on the preliminary objection filed by the defendants on the case.
