Congruous Accolade to An Exemplar in Conscientious Actions, Gen. Buhari (The Peoples General) By Abdulrahman Agboola

The powers of oration, charisma, good, noble and excellent initiatives are rare attributes inherent in genuine democrats that commandeer large political followership globally. In spite of several misgivings in our political system in Nigeria where huge resources is expended by political leaders on their followers to gain and keep their loyalty for pecuniary gains, which has exposed many political leaders in the Country as demagogues, it is worthy to note the existence of dedicated followership derived from trust and truth in the conscientious actions of a genuine democrat-General Muhammad Buhari, against all seeming oppositions to his bid to lead Nigeria to greatness as a prospective President of Nigeria.

As an advocate of young and energetic people in governance at all level of government in Nigeria, one should ordinarily be indisposed or laterally opposed to the ambition of Muhammad Buhari to emerge victorious at the 2015 Presidential Election, but considering the urgent need to salvage and rescue the Country from the grip of demagogues misdirecting the affairs of the State and enhance effective service delivery in order to restore the confidence of the masses in the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the credentials and manifesto of this exemplar with good reputations is a factor that override any ill feelings on his ambition.

The prove of competence, dignity, charismatic stance and overwhelming support of both the wealthy and the downtrodden drumming support for General Muhammad Buhari as shown in the eulogies by eminent personalities and mammoth crowd that graced his declaration of intent for the seat of President at the Eagle Square Venue today is an attestation of his exemplary status and positive inclinations which brings a reflection of hope to the restoration of efficient leadership in Nigeria.

Some detractors of the Peoples’ General in their fruitless quest to set confusions into the minds of the masses have not relented with their propaganda but the masses seems to have damn all the odds and confusion created by the actions of these antics. The mindset of Nigerians is to vigorously install a new order in governance, where the general interest and welfare of the people will be the priority of the leaders in authority of government against the present order of servitude.

The tenacity of General Muhammad Buhari couple with his untainted records in governance makes him outstanding among his contemporaries, in terms of dedication to service which has portrayed him as a solution to our leadership problem in Nigeria. It could be recalled that the reign of General Buhari as the Head of State between 1983 and 1985 instilled worthy discipline and effective service delivery in our polity, which earned the administration a public spirited title with land mark achievements.

Most succeeding federal administrations since the exit of Buhari/Idiagbon in 1985 have compounded the woes of this Country which accounts for the crude treatment of the masses by political gladiators and responsible for the disorderliness in our polity. As at 1985, Nigeria was a leading light in Africa and beyond, the Country earned great respect among comity of Nations and played leadership role for other Africa Countries but lost all the good attributes to cruel leadership of greedy and self-centered Presidents since 1985.

There is a consensus among reasonable Nigerians on the need to overhaul of our system and change is the new slogan serving as creed of the downtrodden and other well-meaning Nigerians convinced in system change. The crooked and ruthless actions of the present administration led by President Goodluck Jonathan with unalloyed support of the chieftains and ill-fated members of Peoples Democratic Party are confirmations of the collapse of good governance and maladministration in Nigeria.

The sincerity of purpose, tenacity and determination of General Muhammad Buhari to inspire positive and productive change in Nigeria is an attestation of his progressiveness and against the negative tendencies of most of his peers and younger people; he stands above hypocrisy greed and selfishness. Since his exit in 1985, he has always made himself available for service of the Country to an extent of serving in lesser positions in deviation from egocentric nature of some past leaders.

General Muhammad Buhari was a leading leader of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party before establishing the Congress of Progressive Change as a platform where he contested the 2011 Presidential Election and the Party won elections in notable States before merging with other Parties to form All Progressive Congress. As a bridge builder, he has been consistently open in his political actions unlike General Ibrahim Babangida with hypocritical postures as shown in his clandestine alliance with vagabonds in power cum ownership and shadow operations of National Democratic Party woefully led by Alhaji Fari and Kazeem Afegbua from 2007to 2011.

With comparative analysis of the personalities in the permutation for the Office of the President in 2015 Election, the only alternative candidate with worthy credentials like General Muhammad Buhari is the Governor of Kano State Engr Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who has conscientiously governed Kano State to greatness.

There is no doubt that the struggle for a system change is set by the declaration of General Muhammad Buhari to contest the 2015 Presidential Election while his ally in conscientious action Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso is set to declare his intent on 23^rd October, 2014 to battle the ticket for APC Presidential Flag bearer with him in line with the liberty provided by the internal democracy in APC.

The self-mobilized crowd and overwhelming support showed willfully by Nigerians at the declaration is an open accolade for the conscientious actions of General Muhammad Buhari which confirms the good intent and purpose of the All Progressive Congress to present the best candidate to the electorates and enhance a system change offered by the Party.
