Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ihejirika Fingers Army General in Jaji Bomb Blast
Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday accused former Infantry Commander, Jaji, retired Major General Muhammad Isa of knowing about the planned attack on the Jaji military cantonment a day before the incident but did nothing to prevent it.
The COAS at a press conference I Abuja said Gen Isa had an intelligence report that the cantonment was to be attacked but failed to do something to prevent it.
His words: “we have received report of investigation that report got to him, (Isa) one day before the attack but Isa did not give instruction to subordinates to take action. When I met him at Chief of Army conference in Asaba, I asked him why are you here when your house is on fire . He did not say anything. The GOC 1 Division received same intelligence report and stayed in Kaduna.Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain whether Major General Isa’s attitude is negligent.”
