Can the PDP Still liken its Doggedness to Lionel Messi? A question for Bamanga Tukur by Abubakar Musa Sadiq
Is lionel messi still the best player on this planet earth? A question to the pdp chairman…by abubakar musa sadiq
“Following the falling form of FC Barcelona and that of Lionel Messi in particular in recent matches”, football commentators around the globe are putting this question across , can we still rate the Man Messi as the world best player?
You won’t agree less if I say it’s about time some of us get a grip of the reality of the phenomena of change constantly brings, for change comes throughout the man’s life, especially when you least expect it and as such, it is always thought to be impossible by many….but eventually it happens.
I am not a partisan politician, neither am I a member of a particular political party nor a sympathiser of any, as my job wouldn’t give me that luxury, but I dare to say the recent move by some opposition political parties to merge into a stronger one is a welcome development to Nigerians. Take it or live it, the coming together of these parties will be a game changer in Nigeria’s political space as well as potent threat to self acclaimed largest party in Africa and Nigeria’s ruling party, the PDP.
The ruling party (PDP) has being ruling this country for more than a decade without any meaningful development as compared with the enormous resources it has expended. An economic student in introductory class would describe this situation as that of a country operating inside its Production Possibility Curve (PPC), even after possessing as well using the amount of resources that require it to operate on the curve or even above the curve if it decides to be ambitious as some economies like Dubai.
The reality of the recent happenings that unfolded in the football world intrigued my curiosity as a concern citizen and I come to the question that can be likened to the affairs of man. Is Barca still the world best as well the unbeatable football club ever? Is Lionel MESSI still the world best, ‘unmarkable’ and ‘uncheckmatable’ player? These two questions leads me into asking again, is Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and his party men keeping brace with the recent past in the world of football, especially as he likes drawing analogy with the performance of Barcelona and Messi?
If after the period of Barcelona’s overwhelming dominance and supremacy, some other football clubs still defeat them, even at their own stronghold and territory, then one should ask if something like that cannot happen within the political space of Nigeria. If Barcelona as a team is tasted what it has always made other clubs to taste (defeat) and the one and only Lionel MESSI is not isolated from such a fall, is PDP not liable to taste that kind of defeat come 2015?
If coaches with clear and defined strategy can stop Barcelona, even in their very backyard or home ground as you may wish to call it, can the newly formed All Progressive Congress (APC) stop PDP as well?
I guess only time shall tell!!
