Cameroon Wins 2017 AFCON Title

Cameroon have won the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations after beating Egypt 2-1 on Sunday.

The Indomitable Lions came from behind to clinch a historic fifth continental title at the expense of the Pharaohs in Libreville, Gabon.

Second half strikes from substitutes Vincent Aboubakar and Nicolas N’Koulou cancelled out Mohamed Elneny goal for the Pharaohs.

The trophy caps an unbelievable tournament for Hugo Broos’ team who were written off prior to the commencement following several first team players pulling out.

Burkina Faso finished third after beating Ghana 1-0 on Saturday.

The next edition of the biennial showpiece will be hosted by Cameroon in 2019.
