Buhari Will End Boko Haram Insurgency If Elected President- Kwankwaso
Kano State governor Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said that if elected president of Nigeria in 2015, APC presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has all it takes to end the Boko Haram insurgency ravaging parts of the country.
He made the remark at a media chat in Kano where he declared that the answer to the scourge of terror in the country “is that we need a good Commander- in- Chief and in my opinion, if Buhari goes there, I see no reason why all these rubbish would not stop” According to the Kano governor who was Buhari’s runner up at the APC presidential primary in Lagos “If you are looking for the answer that would end the problem, I believe that the answer is to have a committed, honest and determined president as the Commander in Chief, somebody who has the political will to stop the killings, not only in Kano, but across the country.”
Lamenting the spate of terror killings in the country, Kwankwaso said “every day, if it is not in Borno, it is in Yobe. If it is not in Yobe , it is in Adamawa. if It is not Bauchi, then it is Kano. Just yesterday, we learnt again of a bomb explosion in Plateau and so on. Our friends are so worried, especially those who have invested their money, especially those who want to invest their money and also those who like to respect this country. The people are wondering what is happening in Nigeria?”
While expressing satisfaction with his performance at the APC presidential primary in Lagos where he came next to Buhari, the aspirant said “When I was going into it I felt certainly I was going to win, but I became number two . And if you look at the quality of the people involved, their experiences, their wealth , I think that everybody should congratulate me.”
Engineer Kwankwaso who congratulated General Buhari, pointed that his spirit was lifted by the commendation he received from the former Head of state days before the primary, when Buhari picked him as his preferred candidate.
“He told the whole world- when asked if not him who will he support?- that he would support Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. What else do I want? Somebody of his age and personality in the society, passing out this information. So to me, it is as good as I had won the primary election” he stated.
