President Muhammadu Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Though details of the meeting were not made public, it was gathered that it is not unconnected with the list of ministerial nominees being prepared by President Buhari.
It was learnt that Obasanjo may likely have one or two nominees on the list and “his nominations may likely be the subject of the brief meeting”, a presidential source stated.
Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, though confirmed Obasanjo’s visit Friday night but denied knowledge of any details of the meeting between the two leaders. “Obasanjo came like a thief in the night but there are no details”, he said.
The two leaders were said to have met inside the official residence of the President. Obasanjo, decked in blue agbada and a cap to match, arrived the premises after President Buhari was done with the day’s work in his office. He was said to arrived around 9:35 pm at the residence and left minutes after 10 p.m local time
Buhari had promised to unveil the list of ministers he’ll be working with anytime in September.
