Bayelsa Indigenes Storm Yenogoa to Collect Jonathan’s 2015 Largesse [PHOTOS]
Reports reaching Abuidiqu.com indicates that indigenes of Bayelsa State, the home state of President Goodluck Jonathan have besieged Yenogoa, the state capital to collect their share of a huge sum of money allegedly provided for all indigenes of the state.
Indigenes of the state were reported to have been told to go to the Yenogoa branch of Sterling Bank to open an account where their share of the money will be deposited and collected at the time of their choice. Each indigene of the State we learnt will receive the sum of N140, 000 after the account opening process is completed.
Although, it remains unclear what the funds were meant for and who exactly provided them for the indigenes, a source said it is coming from the Federal Government as part of measures to garner support for the 2015 ambition of President Jonathan.
According to the source, a similar exercise was carried out in Rivers State, the home state of the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan few weeks ago were each person went home with N140,000. Some of the beneficiaries in Rivers were even reported to have parted with the sum of N20,000 to fast track the account opening process. Abusidiqu cannot independently verify these details.
At the Yenogao branch of Sterling Bank, located on Amarata Road leading to the state Government House, our source observed a large crowd waiting to have their accounts opened. Everyone has been given the Sterling Bank account opening form and is now waiting to be screened to ensure that they are indigenes of Bayelsa state. [See the form below]
One of the indigenes who spoke to our correspondent said he has no idea what they are given them money for. He just heard that money is going to be given out and he joined others to Yenogoa to collect his share.
