Andy Uba Emerges Governorship Candidate of a faction of PDP in Anambra state
He scored a total of 645 votes to defeat four other contestant who participated in the primaries. His closest rival, Emma Anosike polled 110 votes.
Speaking shortly after being declared the winner of the primaries, Senator Andy Uba thank the delegates and party faithful who supported him in hi victory. He assured President Goodluck Jonathan and other supporters of the party that PDP will win the November 16 election in Anambra state.
Meanwhile, another primaries of the Anambra PDP faction led by Ken Emeakayi is at the moment ongoing at the Women Development Centre in Awka, the state capital.
The Emeakayi faction of Anambra PDP which is recognised by the party’s national secretariat is expected to produce another governorship candidate for the PDP in Anambra state.
The development means at least two people would emerge as PDP candidates for Anambra after Saturday’s congresses.
Its left to be seen which of the two factions will eventually field the candidate of the party for the November election, even though the Ogbuebego faction that produce senator Andy Uba the faction recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
