Bomb Scare in Kaduna Forces Traders to Close Shops
Traders in Kaduna metropolis on Monday closed shops following a bomb scare observed in the city.
It started when curious traders along Ahmadu Bello Way, the business hub of the city, had raised alarm over a white bag abandoned near Kontagora road. The traders had suspected the bag to be bomb and immediately alerted security agents.
As soon as words started getting out to the traders that a material suspected to be bomb has been discovered, Many people started running helter-skelter to remain alive.
However, a Police anti-bomb squad which arrived the area promptly discovered that the bag contained some waste items and not bomb.
Kaduna has had a fair share of the bomb attacks currently ravaging the country. Just last week, two separate explosions, one of which was targeted at a former Head of State, Heneral Muhammadu Buhari and the other targeted at a prominent Islamic cleric, Shikh Dahiru Bauchi rocked the city.
AT least 85 persons were confirmed dead in the two blasts, but hospital sources said the death toll climbed to 110, as some of the injured who were taken to hospital could not survive the degrees of injuries they suffered.
