BOMB FACTORY DISCOVERED IN JOS
The Joint Task Force in an operation comprising the military, the police and members of the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday raided a suspected Boko Haram Hide out and discovered a bomb making factory in Rikkos area of Jos, the Plateau state capital.
“There was a bomb factory that was discovered in Rikkos,” police spokesman Samuel Dabai told AFP, referring to a district in Jos.
The terrorists’ hideout and environs have been placed under heavy military surveillance until the Joint Task Force stormed the Area.
The recovered items from the building including over 1,000 rounds of ammunitions, various calibers of AK-47 riffles, detonating cords, cables and bags of fertilizer.
Authorities promptly destroyed the explosive equipment, as well as the entire house.
“We are not suspecting anybody yet but have started investigating,” Dabai said, adding that no one had been arrested.
Jos has been a centre of regular attacks carried out by the dreaded Boko Haram Sect killing hundreds of people.
