A bomb explosion has rocked the Gombe public buses mass transit system in the main Gombe park located at Jekadafari ward, opposite Gombe old market.
The explosion reportedly occurred on Friday at about 9.30 am, when the park was very busy with lots of passengers and traders.
According to eyewitnesses report, so far one woman was seen laying dead and there were many other causalities.
Reports from the scene said some of the suspected bombers were arrested. The suspects were reportedly arrested by some “tough youth” at the park as the police had fled. We are unable to confirm these details.
The Police have reportedly cordoned off the area and emergency officials were rushing injured victims to hospital, a source said.
This would be the latest in a series of renewed Boko Haram terrorism attacks in major cities across the north of Nigeria since the Jonathan government announced a misleading ceasefire.
