Boko Haram Slaughters Civilians in Bama, Throws Them into River
Report reaching Abusidiqu indicates that members of the Boko Haram sect has slaughtered some civilians in Bama, Borno State.
The insurgents reportedly captured the civilian, Parked them in a vehicle and drove them to a bridge in the town before slaughtering them.
They also reportedly threw the bodies of the slaughtered civilians in a river, a source said.
The number of civilians affected by the action of the insurgents is however unknown.
“I can confirm that Bama is still very much under the control of Boko Haram”, sources say, adding that “I just hope they didn’t think the military had actually taken over the town and thought it was safe to return”.
Since the capture of the town by Boko Haram last week, there have been conflicting claims that by both the military and the insurgent of who is actually in control of the town.
While the military claimed to have chased out the sect members after heavy aerial bombardment, the insurgents denounce the claim, saying it still has control of the town.
