The sect carried out their attack on Mubi town after successfully attacking neighboring towns in an overwhelming attack that began last night.
Residents and fleeing troops told SaharaReporters that the militants arrived around noon
Nigerian troops guarding the barracks initially exchanged fire with the militants but fled after more militants arrived in the area with heavy firepower.
It would be recalled that the sect had few months ago taken over Michika and several of Adamawa’s other important towns.
The latest is coming despite claims by the government that a ceasefire negotiation is ongoing with the sect in Chad.
