Boko Haram Launches Fresh Attacks in Borno and Adamawa, Advances Toward Mubi Town
About two weeks into the unilateral ceasefire announcement by the Federal Government claimed to have been reached with the Boko Haram sect, the insurgents have launched yet another attack in Borno and Adamawa States.
The Fresh attack said to be ongoing as at 3pm on Wednesday was launched in Uba and Hildi towns, and other locations in the two states. A report by SaharaReporters said residents in the area said there are no Nigerian troops on the ground to repel the militants.
The report added that the sect are said to be burning houses, killing and forcefully taking foodstuffs, supplies and other valuables from the villages under attack since morning.
Thousands of villagers have fled the area; while others were reported trapped in the early morning siege mounted by the fighters.
As the time of this report, the sect are said to be heading towards Mubi township in Adamawa.
