Boko Haram Attacks Police Station In Borno, Slit Throat of Occupants in Nearby Houses
Boko Haram insurgents have again struck in Borno state where they attacked a police station at Banki, a commercial town at the Nigeria-Cameroon border, killing a policeman and scores of civilians.
The insurgents armed with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and sophisticated weapons invaded the town at about 2am local time today throwing bombs and shooting with Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs).”
According to the narration of one of the survivors, Modu Aisami, the insurgents came on some vehicles suspected to be Hilux and motorcycles, surrounded the police station at about 2am on Thursday, and opened fire on the police station, throwing explosive devices.
“As the police station was on fire, some of the Boko Haram men drove to some houses and slit the throats of some residents while still in sleep but I can’t tell you the exact figure of people killed now. For me, I lost three of my neigbhour in the attack while they were attempting to fight back for safety.
“I think the policemen on duty made bold attempt to repel the attack but one of the policemen was killed,” he explained adding that the insurgents also raided some houses in search of foodstuffs and money as revealed by some victims in the community.
