Bayelsa Govt Inaugurates Oil And Gas Task Force To Tackle Oil Theft, Vandalism, Others
The government of Bayelsa State has made true its promise of inaugurating Two Hundred and Fifty Youths (250) of the state into the Bayelsa State Oil and Gas Taskforce.
The governor who was represented his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas; Hon. Felix E. Bonny Ayah said that the inauguration is in line with the fulfillment of the Restoration campaign promises to engage youths in the state.
The Special Adviser said it is important to guide and protect multinationals and their facilities against vandalism, bunkering and other anti social vices for the betterment of the state and the nation at large, also said the Taskforce will also be used to shut down facilities of erring companies.
While charging the new members of the state oil and Gas taskforce, Hon. Bonny Ayah, urged them not to see acquiring wealth at all course as a priority against the terms of service but getting engaged to shun illegal activities and remain law abiding citizens of the state and the country at large.
The oil and gas Boss also assured all and sundry that vandalism and bunkering activities will be wiped out in the state in no distance time as the taskforce will work with the various security agencies and other relevant bodies saddled with similar responsibility.
In total satisfaction with the development, the Senior Special Assistants to the Bayelsa State Governor through the Chairman Forum of SSAs Hon. Barr. Tare Porri, said he is confident that the oil and gas companies in the state will support the moves in ensuring a safer environment and as such they will compensate the move. Hon. Tare further charged the task force members to be loyal to the course of operations adding that Governor Dickson’s led Government is committed to sustaining a happy life for all Bayelsans in and outside the state.
In response to the Charges, members of the state oil and gas task force committee express gratitude towards the engagement, pledging that they would remain loyal to the course of operation in line with ensuring a better environment.
Also inaugurated is the Swamp Oil Producing Areas Association to work with the State Oil and Gas Taskforce.
