Bauchi Senator, Ali Wakil Is Dead
Lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator Ali Wakil (mni), is dead.
Wakil, died at the age of 58 on Saturday after a brief illness.
The senate president, Bukola Saraki, had just tweeted about Mr. Wakil’s passing.
“Enroute to celebrate with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and family on their daughter’s wedding, I just heard about the passing of my friend and colleague, Senator Ali Wakili. I am on my way to the Wakili house to pay my respects to his family,” he wrote.
“Inalilahi wa Ina Ilaehi Rajiun. It is the Almighty Allah (SWT) that gives life, and it his Him that takes it away. I pray that the Almighty Allah grants the dear departed Senator a place in Al Jannah Firdaus.”
Also, Senator representing Lagos East, Gbenga Ashafa, tweeted:
“Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I just received with a heavy heart the news of the passage of my brother Senator and a member of the Senate Committee on Land Transport, Senator Ali Wakil (mni). A detribalized Nigerian, dependable colleague and a friend.
“My heart and prayers remain with the Wail family and the constituents of Bauchi South Senatorial District in this time of grief. May almighty Allah grant the soul of late Senator Ali Wakil (mni) Aljannah Firdaus.”
