Bauchi Governor Decries Increase In Drug Abuse
Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar has described drug and substance abuse as worrisome ?considering the criminal dangers it poses to the society.
Governor Abubakar stated this on Wednesday at the official flag-off of Bauchi State Drug Control and Intervention Programme held in Multi Purpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi.

The Governor represented by his Deputy Architect Audu? Sule Katagum, said the present administration has taken the fight against drug abuse is of utmost priority.
He commended the Wife of the Governor for her foresigh?t of coming up with such an initiative.
?The Wife of the state Governor Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar said the initiative was being championed by Wives of Northern Governors Forum which she happened to be the Chairperson.

Chairman of the occasion, also the Vice Chancellor Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Professor Sanminu Abdurrahman represented by Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul-Azeez? emphasised the need for all stakeholders to join hand to minimise drug abuse in the state.
State Commander NDLEA, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul? called on philanthropic organisations, NGOs, CSOs, Religious and traditional leaders, to contribute their quarter to fight the menace.
The event was organised by Office of the Wife of the Bauchi State Governor in collaboration with the State Ministry of Social Welfare, Youth and Sports. ?
