Baga: Nigerian Army Calls For Calm In Maiduguri
The Nigerian Army has urged inhabitants of Bama, Dikwa and Monguno communities in Maiduguri to remain calm and disregard calls to abandon their communities and relocate to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).
This according to the Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE in Maiduguri became necessary after it observed that some unscrupulous individuals with likely sinister motives within and outside Borno State, are trying to create panic and unnecessary humanitarian problems for undisclosed reasons.
The Army said its attention was drawn to the plot by some people to instigate the inhabitants of the listed communities to abandon their communities and relocate to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camps for undisclosed reasons.
In a statement by the Deputy Director Public Relations, Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, the inhabitants of these towns and the general public have been called upon to discountenance such calls and remain calm as it found no basis for the people of Bama, Dikwa and Monguno to vacate their respective communities.
