As My Neigbours Lost Their Jobs (Satire) By Bashir Bello
So sad My Neighbors Lost their Jobs, Four of them, its 5:039 and No Sound of Siren as they go to and from their offices. I wish you Karma Generals
Our offices are less than 100m away you will appreciate how much Sirens I endure, the number of times I will be harassed by their Escorts to pull over etc. But still I will miss them, especially General Kenneth Minimah, he is an example of what is wrong with Nigeria, A Lot of sacrifices was made for this Infantry General to get the Chief, He was a fine officer who transformed along the way.
As his neighbor he was a very humble Man, not because he drops by to say hi, or his boys let me drop by his office for some Tea but because he respects the Traffic Light his escorts will violate it but his Three Star clapped Car will stop until the green lights comes on. This to me is a sign of Humility even though for the Motorist they had rather him gone than wait.
His Colleagues The other Three Star Guys and their Boss the Four star Bade never wait they zoom off while we are forced to Park and grind our teeth’s
Another Sign of Minimahs humility was displayed during the Passing out Parade of the direct short Service Course in School of Infantry Jaji, During the Slow Parade he was asked to go sit until they Cadets returned to his stand he said No and stood there till the end. There was a rumor that the Chief of Defense staff always took a sit and relax in between Parades. I did not verify this though.
My advice to my new Neighbors as its their right to be advice about our neighborhood, One of the things we expect from them is to Open up the Muhammadu Buhari way they’ve blocked for over 5 years as a mark of Respect to ‘’President I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody, This will boost our Confidence that the Armed forces are on top of the Situation but if you failed to open up that Road we will understand, You are also scared even within the Safety of Abuja. The other day my friends were arguing that the Armed Forces are more afraid than the Police, whom even when their Headquarters was bombed they never blocked the way to suffer Motorist and other road Users (Cows too roamed freely in Abuja this days).
My second advice is Please take care of your plenty Children as they are the angriest in the hood, especially when the Month has gone far and they become broke. Increase their Pocket Money if necessary.
Lastly you are my Number 3 set of neighbors occupying the Defense House. I wish you all the best and sincerely Pray I out lived you as I outlived your Predecessors.
