Artist Launches Public Participatory Painting Of Muhammadu Buhari’s Portrait [Photos]
A talented, creative and renowned artist, Iklaga Ahmedu (Iklaga K’ Otupko), along with a team of other artists who love, support and believe in the leadership qualities of the President- Elect “General Mohammad Buhari has launched a public participatory painting of his portrait.
The initiative tagged “Changes in Colour” is an artistic representation of the unequivocal and collective aspiration and yearning of Nigerians for “CHANGE” which was made manifest through the VOTES OF THE NIGERIAN ELECTORATES in the just concluded 2015, Presidential Election.
The event would be actualised through a Joint and Participatory Public Painting Exercise by Nigerians from all walks of life; namely: Doctors, Bankers, Motorcyclists, Engineers,Artistes, Musicians, Politicians, Business men and women, Job seekers,Self-employed, Students, Lecturers, Police officers, Military officers, Young and old,Rich and Poor etc; of 18 years and above, who will each dab his/her thumb in an oil paint (ink) and thumb print same on an 8 Feet by 9 Feet canvass, with six (6) panels, representing the six (6) Geo-Political Zones of Nigeria.
This would be a re-enactment of the of the “WIND OF CHANGE” that blew across Nigeria on the 28th of March, 2015 Presidential Election, as the Canvass is moved from one location to another (Gwagwalada, Area 10, Federal Secretariat, etc) within the Federal Capital Territory, for Nigerians to thumb print (dab) on it, from 21st-27th of May, 2015,
from 9:00am-6:00pm daily.
These thumb prints will aggregate congruously to form a “VOTE PORTRAIT” of the President-Elect, General Mohammad Buhari; thereby re-affirming their corporate endorsement as well as their collective support, unflinching loyalty and passionate commitment to help this administration achieve and deliver its promises to create a “NEW
NIGERIA” of our dream.
The climax of the exercise would be the Public Presentation of the “VOTE PORTRAIT” to the President-Elect by the Nigerian Populace on the 28th of May, 2015, at the APC National Office, subject to the convenience of the President-Elect.
