APYF Cautions Saraki Media Office: Stop The Fake News
The All Progressives Youth Forum has cautioned the Saraki Media Office to stop peddling fake news on social media platforms aimed at disparaging the image of the party and its members.
The Forum in a statement signed by its National Field Diroector, Mr. Alwah Hassan, noted that it had observed the spread of lies, false stories and deliberately misconstrued reports being pushed especially on Whatsapp by members of Saraki’s media office erroneously claiming the recent report by the IGP on the NASS siege linked APC politicians to the raid.
“It has been observed that messages attempting to link the APC with the unfortunate events that took place at the National Assembly are being pushed out by members of Saraki’s media team. It is embarrassing that people who should know better and follow ethical practices in communication are involved in this.” the statement read.
“We want to state clearly that the APC has nothing to do with the recent siege by the DSS on the National Assembly. It was clear that members of the APC were conspicuously absent during the siege even when members of the PDP imputed they were inside the National Assembly only to enter and find out they were only acting on figments of their imaginations.” the statement continued.
“The All Progressives Youth Forum wishes to commend the Acting President for his swift and decisive action that proved once more that the President Buhari led administration is one that respects the rule of law and would not tolerate impunity.”
The Forum described moves being made by desperate politicians and media aides hungry to impress their principals by spreading fake news as unhelpful in making Nigeria a better place.
The APYF called on Nigerians to continue to have faith in the APC led administration, noting that it would ensure to deliver on its promises, as it fixes years of destruction orchestrated by the 16 years of the PDP.
