APC Zoning, Make Or Mar For The Party: Motivating Nigeria Youths For A Change Of Government In 2015 By Comrade Abdulrahman Agboola
The reactivation of good governance in Nigeria is very germane to the advancement of general welfare of Nigeria Citizens in the face of glutinous and gnashing feelings among the masses. The worthy delivery of the dividends of democracy to a common Man is one of the fundamental bases of Civil Government globally.
Our dear Nation is enveloped with fear due to high level of insecurity caused by the failure of Federal Government to channel the Country’s enormous resources towards a guaranteed safety of lives and properties, enhancement of an egalitarian society and facilitation of brighter rewarding future for the Youths in particular.
The image of the Country is battered almost beyond redemption among the Comity of Nations as a result of high-handedness on the part of a corrupt government led by President GoodLuck Jonathan aided by poor orientation among the masses who preference religious and ethnic jingoism above nationalistic inclinations.
The Peoples Democratic Party led Federal Government led since 1999 has caused more damage than good to the unity of purpose that previously existed among the masses, which leaves one with wonders to comprehend if really this was truly the Country of globally acknowledged icons of integrity, pro-masses and reputable Nationalist in the class of Nnamdi Azikwe, Abubakar Tafa Balewa and Obafemi Awolowo to mention but few.
The PDP led administration has crumbled the nation’s economy, crashed the security strength, lowered the standard of education, expanded the poverty rate and drained the viable resources into the covers of President GoodLuck Jonathan and his allies at the expense of the interest of the common citizen of Nigeria.
The situation of our Country today is highly unpalatable and the PDP led administration has shown beyond reasonable doubt the worst of wickedness against humanity by the dodgy activities of President GoodLuck Jonathan.
By every indices and parameters, Nigeria has no reason to be economically backward judging by the abundance of human and material resources docile in the most populous black nation in the world. In the era of Pre-Independence, Nigeria was foreseen as a potentially great country with tendencies to rule the world economy but today, the Nation is in the doldrums.
In spite of the some challenges within the rank of the opposition party in the Country, the All Progressive Congress is still acceptable to a sensible and positive thinking man as the hope of the Nation. The manifestos presented by the APC to the general public and the great performance of most of the elected political office holders on the platform of the party has earned the confidence of an average Nigerian in the Party to a great extent.
Nigerians are tired of the ineptitude leadership of the PDP led Federal Government and rely on the victory of APC at the Presidential Election in 2015 as the only life line for a new dawn in our governance. However, the PDP are prepared for a show down against the clamour and yearning of the masses for a change of government leading to a system change.
The APC National Convention holds 12th to 13th June, 2014 to elect the National Executive Council to lead the Party to victory and gain the authority at the Federal Level in the overall interest of the masses. In the build to the Convention, many reputable personalities with proven record of effective service delivery have surfaced to take over the mantle of leadership at the party level but more of great concern to the Youth is the position of the NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER of the Party.
The major challenge of elections in Nigeria is the mobilization of Youths with electoral population of 60% which is too important to be ignored in the build up to the success of any party. APC must put into serious consideration the effective mobilisation of Youths through a National Youth Leader of the Party with popularity and total acceptability among the Youths.
It is noted that APC is blessed with many sound, reliable, progressively productive, agile and virile Youths in its fold but the most trusted among them is a former President of National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) who is equally former President of West Africa Students Union (WASU) presently in the race for the National Youth Leader of APC.
The tenacity of Comrade Daniel Onjeh, trusted ability to deliver proactively, discharge efficiently the duties and demands of the office, coupled with his exemplary influence among the Students and Youths base on his records in NANS, WASU, Civil Society and Street Sense is an impetus towards the success of APC in 2015 as majority of Nigeria Youths earnestly awaits his emergence an the National Youth Leader of APC, this I say without any fear of contradiction.
But going by the Zoning of Offices ahead of the Convention, it is observed that the position of National Youth Leader is zoned to the North East where as the candidate with more recognition for that exalted position hails from North Central. It is expected of the Leaders of APC to reconsider appropriately or find means of reconciling the Youth Cadres to enhance unity of purpose among the concerned Youth Leaders in the best interest of the Nation.
Nigeria masses are dedicatedly convinced of the need for APC led Government at the Federal Level to redeem the image of this Country and turn around the fortune of this great nation from a perishable state to a glorious state.
