APC Presidential Primary: Atiku Concedes Defeat, Congratulates Buhari
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has conceded defeat in the presidential Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ongoing at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Although the official result of the primary is yet to be declared as counting of ballot is still ongoing ast at the time of this report, Atiku who scored 954 votes accepted the defeat and the victory of Buhari.
Buhari scored 3,430 votes to defeat Atiku and the three other aspirants who entered the race for the APC presidential ticket. They include Governors Rochas Okorocha and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as well as the publisher Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda Isaiah.
The former vice president has also congratulated Buhari for the victory at the primaries, adding that the delegates have spoken.
“I heartily congratulate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari for emerging victorious in this keenly contested presidential primary election of our great Party, the APC,” Atiku wrote.
“You ran a spirited campaign, and since the delegates have spoken, you fully deserve the victory,” Atiku said.
