APC NWC Members Eyes Ministerial Positions, Buhari Warns Them To Steer Clear
As Nigerians await President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for his cabinet, there are indications that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Working Committee (NWC), are doing all they can to make the list of minister that will form Buhari’s cabinet.
Sources in the know told Abusidiqu that almost all members of the NWC of the party have been working to see that their names make Buhari’s ministerial list even though many of them had little or no participation in the campaign that brought him to power.
The National Chairman of the party for instance is reportedly lobbying to be appointed as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), while other members of the NWC has settled for ministerial positions.
the announcement of nominees for The NWC of APC reportedly all wanted to be ministers with the exception of a few of them.
But to their disappointment, President Buhari is not disposed to having any member of the NWC becoming a cabinet member in his government.
Buhari, having gotten wind of their seeming ambitions, was said to have been terribly disappointed at their naked greed and decided to sideline them.
At a meeting recently held between the NWC and the President, the president made it clear that all party officials should remain in the party and should not entertain the thoughts of becoming ministers or what have you.
