APC Leaders to Visit Obasanjo in Ota Today
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress will today continue their visit to past leaders and top political echelon in the country with a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The visit according to an APC leader who pleaded anonymity will be at Obasanjo home in Ota, Ogun State.
Although no mention was made about those expected to participate in the visit, the source said that it would include largely the same set of the party’s leaders that had visited other former Heads of State such as Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar and Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.
It would be recalled that some APC chieftains including former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, former Lagos state Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and a host of governors elected under the platform of the party in the recent past visited some prominent leaders including former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar and former president Ibrahim Babangida.
The visit to General Obasanjo is coming on the heels of a hint given by former Head of State Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who at the residence of a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, said the party’s next stop in their nationwide consultation with notable Nigerians would be Obasanjo.
Buhari said APC will meet Obasanjo and explain to him the reason for the formation of the party.
Expected to be at Obasanjo’s residence for the visit are the Interim National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu are expected to be part of the delegation to Obasanjo.
