APC Holds Strategic Meeting Over Defections
There are strong indications that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), is making strategic moves to control the damage of the gale of defections that took place on Tuesday.
AIT reports that up till Tuesday night, the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, was unusually busy with party chieftains like Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan who led some senators to the party’s national secretariat for a meeting with the hierarchy of the party.
Other leaders who came to the secretariat were the governor of Ogun State Ibikunle Ampsun, Governor-Elect of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, Musiliu Obanikoro and Deputy Governor of Edo state, Philip Shaibu.
The party however, said it will explore all avenues to make the defectors return to the party.
The party had stated earlier that it is not bothered by the defections of the legislatures.
