APC to Folarin: You’re A Bad News In Oyo Politics
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has described the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections as depicting a bad news in the politics of the state which the people would always loathe to hear regardless of the manner of its presentation.
In its reactions to an interview which Sen. Folarin granted and published by a national newspaper yesterday, Oyo APC’s Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare, said in a statement that the former Senate Leader had further compounded his credibility problem in the polity by exposing himself as an unrepentant desperado and master of double speak.
“In the said interview, Sen. Folarin revealed how Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s sense of justice and fairness saved him from the brink of life imprisonment or jaw of death which he faced while defending a celebrated murder case prior to the latter’s assumption of office. On the other hand, the same Folarin claimed the governor was a non-performer.
“By implication, the APC administration led by Sen. Ajimobi has been able to clean the Augean stables brought into the state by the PDP gladiators while their eight-year reign lasted as the era of injustice, witch-hunting and brigandage has been eroded to pave way for justice, fairness and equity without discrimination. As a matter of fact, a sincere mind would celebrate this feat alone even if nothing has been added to it.
“However, Sen. Ajimobi has been able to add more to his achievement in the area of restoration of peace and security in all parts of the state with improved infrastructure, social re-orientation, stamping out of official corruption, improved welfare of workers, revamping of key sectors of the economy, among others. But unfortunately, some political actors are dissatisfied with all these because they would prefer the status quo of indiscipline and indecent practice in government, which benefit them as individuals, to remain.
“In view of the foregoing, we are taken aback that a Sen. Folarin whose recent emergence as a gubernatorial candidate of the PDP is still a subject of controversy can still choose to mislead the public by making false claims in the media. But the good thing about the development is that each attempt by Folarin and his ilk to denigrate the person of the governor falls flat on its face as the people of the state remain resolute in their determination to settle for continuity and consolidation in 2015.” APC stated.
