In a terse statement by Tijani Tumsah, Interim National Secretary of APC, the party stated that it is yet to inaugurate the state exco in Kwara and therefore cannot have an interim Chairman.
Rev. Bunmi had earlier in a press statement titled ‘We hail the emergence of ‘New APC’ (nAPC)’, expressed support for the Dele Belgore leadership of the state APC

“Our attention has been drawn to one Rev. Bunmi Olusona, who is parading himself as the Interim Chairman of the APC in Kwara State,” Tumsah said.
“We hereby state that our party has not inaugurated the interim executive committee in Kwara State, and that the APC stakeholders in the state are working to find a convenient date for the inauguration.”
Tumsah said that after the inauguration of the interim executive committee in the state, the governor of the state will be saddled with the responsibility of nominating the Interim Chairman.
“Therefore, anyone currently parading himself as the Interim Chairman of the APC in Kwara State is nothing but an impostor who should be ignored by all. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all Security Agencies should please take note,” Tumsah stated.
