APC Complies With INEC’s Directive, Re-Submits Completed Documents
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is a merger of three opposition political parties in Nigeria, Wednesday submitted complied with the directives of the Independent National Electoral Commission to make available to it, the full list of the interim national executive committee of the proposed merger party.
INEC had in a letter to the political association (APC), dated June 12 acknowledged the receipt of the letter of intent to be registered as a political party, but directed that the parties–the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) to furnish it with the full list of the interim national executives of the proposed party.
The letter also asked the merging parties to ensure that they fill and submit 35 copies of the commission’s prescribed Form PA and to also submit 35 copies of the proposed constitution, manifesto and affidavit supporting claims made on form PA.
Abusidiqu.com reliably gathered that the All Progressives Congress has re-submit completed 35 copies of Form PA and 35 copies of the constitution of APC, including the list of the newly constituted interim party executives to the commission.
Information was not however available from the Public Affairs Department of INEC to confirm whether the party seeking to be registered has complied with the directive.
If the party has indeed complied with INEC directives, it may eventually be registered as a political party within the next couple of days or weeks, provided all the conditions required for registration is met.
