APC Blasts Ekweremadu, Decries PDP’s Attacks Against Anti-graft War
The All Progress Congress (APC), has decried the incessant disapproval of President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption, by key members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ruling party in a statement it issued yesterday by its Assisant Director of Publicity, Mr. Edegbe Odemwingie in response to an earlier attack on the anti-graft effort by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, regretted that while majority of Nigerians were all plaudits for the APC on war against corruption, key elements in the opposition were against it.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) is aware of the intensified orchestrated attacks by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their agents on the hugely successful war against corruption being waged by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
According to the APC National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni, “the party is also aware of the plot by the PDP and their agents to stampede and blackmail anti-corruption agencies over ongoing corruption cases being investigated.
“In three orchestrated press statements issued on Friday, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose among others alleged plans by the APC and President Buhari’s administration to silence the opposition through a selective anti-corruption fight. Also, the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus on Friday accused the APC of attempting to turn the country into a one party state.
“The APC urges anti-corruption agencies not to be distracted by these syndicated and coordinated attacks and continue to employ all legal and legitimate avenues to bring to book all looters of our common wealth”, the statement reads.
