APC and the 8th National Assembly Lessons Learnt By Adamu Auta Adamu
Let me start by saying ‘ To whom brain is giving common sense is expected.’
From what transpired yesterday at the inauguration of the National Assembly that saw Dr Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu (phd) emerge as both Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively leaves us with signs of things to come and here are my thoughts:
1: The APC as a political party still think they are the opposition party up till now, whatever happen at the Nass Assembly was constitutional so why are they “Shouting foul” common this is Politics.
2: The Apc showed they are still naive Politically, Kwankwaso before now had given the warning shot ever since to the party but they failed to listen, they took things for granted, now this is the result.
3: we have been shouting the Mantra “CHANGE” this is the change we have been clamouring for, gone are the days where a single party monopolies the National Assembly.
4: Respect to Mr President for accepting the outcome of the 8th Assembly election, it shows ” He is for everybody and for nobody.
5: Where was the Miscommunication ? from? Mr President gave the Clerk a directive to inaugurate the National Assembly at exactly 10 o clock, how come it is the Same President that ask the Apc member to converge at the ICC and this message was passed through the Apc publicity Secretary not Mr President Special Adviser on Media and publicity.
6: The Apc started the game elected a different leader apart from the anointed leader of a party, when they were ACN, CPC, ANPP joined forces with Hon. Aminu Tambuwal to defeat the PDP anointed candidate now the PDP has Paid them with their own coin ( they ended the game).
7: This shows that the PDP are Fast Learners of how to be an Opposition.
8: It might be bad for APC as a Party but this is good for Nigeria Democracy.
9: People are blaming Mr President for not intervening, my question is when your Party has a majority you expect them to do their ground work.
Using America as an Example if a Minority Party becomes the Majority in the Assembly, Automatically the minority leaders automatically becomes the Senate President and Speaker in Nigeria case this would have been Akume and Femi Gbajaimiala but blocks in the party wanted some one different at the stool.
10: The APC are shouting “Betrayal”, Traitors etc Really? 90% of Nigerians are treacherous in Nature.
11: Different Parties that? came to be known as APC, there is a Balance the President is CPC member (Defunct) vice President ACN member( Defunct) and now Senate President new PDP Member ( Defunct). So there is a balance of affairs in the party for all its joint members win win for all.
12: If APC has really instrument of Change as they claim they should be happy that during their own tenure there is actual change in the statuesque of how things happen.
13: Now this shows you have to en trench Internal Democracy in your party whether you like it or not
14: You can’t eat your cake and have it back the APC used the New Pdp (defunct) to defeat the PDP Govt in power then but now they don’t want them to partake in the affairs of Governance? Do I see greed and hypocrisy? , when u dine with the Devil always expect the devil to have his share in your cake.
15: with what happened yesterday this shows that Tinubu alone does not hold the aces alone Atiku is still in the game of Godfatherism too?.
16: Most people make analysis forgetting how God works we all thought the Igbos (SouthEast) would not have anything in this Govt but here we are today the Deputy Senate President is from the South East Region, we plan he decides.
As For the Representative
The APC has nothing to cry for here all members where available and their Anointed candidate was defeated fair and Square despite the fact I would have love Hon Femi to be the Speaker ( Personal opinion) ?.
This is good for our Democracy is see better days ahead. God bless Nigeria.
