Anambra Guber: NSCDC To Deploy 300 Dogs, Four Drones, 11,000 Personnel
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has said it will deploy 300 dogs and 11,000 personnel from seven states for the conduct of November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.
Disclosing this to journalists in Awka, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. John Ahwen, said the personnel would be de-ployed from neighbouring states of Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Delta, Edo and Rivers.
According to him, him, four drones, ambulances and medical team as well as 115 vehicles, 15 of which would also be deployed in the riverine areas of the state. Ahwen said the Deputy Commandant-General in charge of Operations, Mr. Hillary Madu, would lead the operation while two Assistant Commandants- General would assist him.
While calling on the state voters to come out en-masse to participate in the election without any fear of molestation, the NSCDC boss added: “The people of the state should feel free and secure to exercise their franchise during the election because the security agencies are out to protect them.”
