Aluu killings: UNIPORT Students Embark on Revenge Mission, As Police Arrest 12 Suspects
Students of the University of Port Harcourt have reportedly gone on rampage by attacking Aluu community in Rivers State where four of their colleagues were on Friday brutally beaten and burnt to death for allegedly stealing phone and laptop in the community.
The students have reportedly burnt markets, houses and extended the attack to some members of the community who watched and filmed the horrendous killing of the students with their phones.
Meanwhile, indications emerged that twelve people who allegedly participated in the killing of the four students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) have been arrested by the Rivers State police Command.
The Rivers state police command had earlier promised to bring the perpetrators of the crime to book, cautioning the students of the University not to react to the incident in the most negative way through protest or any of such related moves.
The Commissioner of Information for Rivers State commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari had tweeted earlier today (@ibimtoby) that “PH government is outraged. The Governor has ordered investigations and already some arrests have been made.”
Also, a reliable source had told our correspondent that the community Chief has also been arrested in connection with the distasteful act.
